Product Name:         POLVORON DELIGHTS KEZO UBE

Polvoron is powdered milk candy; made of flour, sugar butter and powdered milk. Over a hundred of years the serving of polvoron in the Philippines is the same. So we decided to promote our new and unique polvoron product, namely “POLVORON DELIGHTS KEZO UBE FLAVOR with NUTS” to enjoy delicious and beneficial flavor of ube and cheese. Polvoron over the years has become one of the most loved sweet Filipino delicacies.

Product Trivia:
Did You Know That?
A polvorón (Arabic: ghurayba[1]; Cebuano: polboron; Tagalog: pulburon) is a type of Andalusian shortbread of Levantine origin[1] popular in Spain and Latin America and other ex-spanish colonies such as the Philippines during Christmas. It is made of flour, sugar, milk, and nuts. They are normally produced from September to January but are now often available year round. There are about 70 factories in Andalusia that are part of a syndicate that produce polvorones and mantecados.
Ingredients:

      4 cups all purpose flour
      2 cups powdered milk
3/4 cup pinipig or peanuts crushed
1     1/8 cup butter, softened
1        1/2 cup granulated sugar
1        cup of Ube or 1 Box of Cheese

Cooking procedure:

1. Heat a frying pan or a wok then put-in the flour. Toast the flour until you smell the aroma and the color turns light brown. Make sure to stir while toasting to prevent the flour from being burnt.
2. Once the flour is toasted, let it cool down for about 20 minutes then transfer to a mixing bowl.
3. Add the powdered milk then stir using a balloon whisk.
4. Put-in the granulated sugar then stir again.
5. Add-in the crushed pinipig or nuts then stir until very ingredient is well distributed.
6. Pour-in the softened butter and cheese or ube and mix well. You may use your clean hands in doing the procedure. After mixing, let it stand for at least 10 minutes to allow the butter to cool. This will make the mixture more intact.
7. Using a polvoron molder, scoop the mixture and put it on top of a pre-cut Japanese paper or cellophane then wrap.
8. Serve. Share and enjoy!

The health benefits of cheese include the following:

·         Dental Care: Cheese is very-very high in calcium content, the first and foremost thing you need for strong teeth. Moreover, it is very low in lactose content. The older the cheese, the lower is the lactose content. This also is beneficial for the teeth as any form of sugar (glucose, maltose or lactose) in food stuff harms teeth.
·         Bone Health: Apart from having very high calcium content, cheese is also rich in vitamin-B, which is very good for children, women (particularly pregnant and lactating) and elderly people (well, for adults too), for formation and strengthening of bones and cartilages. The vitamin-B here aids proper absorption and distribution of calcium.
Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis is mainly a deficiency disease which is caused due to deficiency of calcium (non-absorption) of calcium, resulting in fall in the bone density. This is particularly seen in women who undergone menopause, elderly people and children who suffer from malnutrition. This can be treated with a protein, calcium and vitamin rich diet (calcium alone will not help much, because the problem is with its absorption and utilization for bone formation). And these three are found in abundance in cheese. So, cheese can be ideal part of the diet of those suffering from osteoporosis.
·         Hypertension: Sodium and cholesterol are the two elements mainly considered harmful in hypertension and hypertensive people are advised to avoid them. Here, cheese should be viewed critically. The fat content of the cheese depends very much on the quality of the milk viz. full fat or full cream, low fat or fat free. In general, high fat cheeses are more popular as they are tastier. But, keeping in view the public demand, low fat cheeses are also being introduced to the market. So, you need to be choosy while picking them. Then, the sodium! Although, the sodium content of cheeses varies according to the amount of salt added to the milk prior to cheese formation, still it is never that low to be recommended for hypertensive people, as salt is an inevitable part of cheese. So, in general, cheese cannot be recommended for hypertensive people. Although, a low sodium and low fat cheese is helpful in reducing Homocysteine, an agent which is often related with heart diseases, still, it does not make it recommendable for hypertensive people. Another thing in cheese that can help hypertensive people is the vitamin-B content.
·         Weight Gain: Cheese is an excellent food for gaining weight. They are full of proteins, fats, calcium, vitamins and minerals. You have proteins for muscles, fats for fats, calcium for heavier and stronger bones and vitamins and minerals for better metabolism. You just need to eat a lot of them, do your exercises and sleep tight.
·         Other Benefits: Cheese contains Conjugated Linoleic Acid and Sphingolipids which help prevent cancer. It contains a lot of vitamin-B which develops in it during fermentation. This vitamin-B is very good for maintaining many functions in the body and also for protection against diseases like Beriberi. It also enhances blood formation, strengthens liver, facilitates absorption of nutrients in the body etc.

Health Benefits of Ube for purple yam (Dioscorea alata).
Unique Proteins with Potent Antioxidant Effects
Recent research studies on yams focus on two areas of unique health benefit. First are some unique root storage proteins in this food that have been observed to have significant antioxidant capacities. In one study, these proteins had about one-third the antioxidant activity of glutathione—one of the body's most impressive internally produced antioxidants. Although future studies are needed in this area, count on these root proteins to help explain the yams' healing properties.

·         An "Antidiabetic" Food
Second is the recent classification of yams as an "antidiabetic" food. The yam has been given this label because of some recent animal studies in which the yam helped to stabilize blood sugar levels and lowered insulin resistance. (Insulin resistance is a problem caused when cells don't respond to the hormone insulin, which is supposed to act as a key and unlock the cell in order to allow sugar to pass from the blood into the cell). Some of its blood sugar regulatory properties may come from the fact that yams are concentrated in carotenoids. Research has suggested that physiological levels, as well as dietary intake, of carotenoids may be inversely associated with insulin resistance and high blood sugar levels. Once again, more research is needed in this area, but the stage is set for the yam to show unique healing properties in the area of blood sugar control.

An Antioxidant-Rich, Anti-Inflammatory Food

As an excellent source of vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene) and a very good source of vitamin C, yams have healing properties as an antioxidant food. Both beta-carotene and vitamin C are very powerful antioxidants that work in the body to eliminate free radicals. Free radicals are chemicals that damage cells and cell membranes and are associated with the development of conditions like atherosclerosis, diabetic heart disease, and colon cancer. This may explain why beta-carotene and vitamin C have both been shown to be helpful for preventing these conditions.

The purple yam is a good source of vitamins C and E as well as dietary fiber, potassium, and iron, and they are low in fat and cholesterol (see the Table for more detail). The orange-and red-fleshed forms of sweet potato are particularly high in beta-carotene, the vitamin A precursor.
